Davidson Fellows Scholarship: Empowering the Exceptional Students

About the Scholarship
The Davidson Fellows Scholarship is specifically for students under the age of 18 who have completed a significant piece of work in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, literature, music, or philosophy. The work should be recognized as outstanding in their field and have the potential to make a positive contribution to society.
The scholarship provides funding of $50,000, $25,000, or $10,000 to support the further development and education of the recipients. In addition to the financial award, the Davidson Institute also provides opportunities for the recipients to meet and network with other exceptional young people, as well as receive mentorship and guidance from professionals in their field.
Davidson Fellows Scholarship Application Requirement and Eligibility
The application process for the Davidson Fellows Scholarship is highly competitive and rigorous and includes submitting a detailed application and supporting materials, as well as participating in interviews with the selection committee.
To be eligible for the Davidson Fellows Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be under the age of 18 as of October 1 of the year in which they apply.
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
- Have completed a significant piece of work in one of the following categories: science, technology, engineering, mathematics, literature, music, or philosophy. The work must be recognized as outstanding in their field and have the potential to make a positive contribution to society.
- Be able to demonstrate that they have created or developed their work through their own initiative, without significant adult help or supervision.
- Be able to provide evidence of their work through a portfolio of materials, such as research papers, videos, recordings, or manuscripts.
- Two-person teams are eligible to apply
- Be able to attend in person event, with at least one parent or guardian, or a virtual award ceremony
- Be available to attend the awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., if selected as a finalist.
In addition to meeting these eligibility requirements, applicants will also need to complete a detailed application that includes information about their background, their work, and their future goals.
They will also need to provide supporting materials that demonstrate the quality and significance of their work, as well as letters of recommendation from adults who can attest to their abilities and achievements.

How to Apply
- To expedite the approval process, please submit the initial portion of your application as soon as possible. This will allow more time for you and your nominators to complete the remaining forms and requirements.
- After submitting the initial portion, your application will undergo a review process which typically takes 1-2 business days. Once approved, you will receive an email notification enabling you to proceed with the application.
- Part two of the application involves inputting your nominator’s information and forwarding them their respective nominating forms. You will also need to input a parent’s information and send them the required parent approval form(s).
Note that only one parent form is needed, but if it’s a team submission, each team member will require their own.

Review Process and Notification
All submissions are rigorously reviewed for completeness and accuracy. Entries that meet the eligibility requirements are then categorized and evaluated by an independent panel of judges, who are experts in related domains. The judges may consult with additional experts at their discretion to thoroughly assess the submissions.
Based on the evaluation, the independent team of judges will select the Davidson Fellows and determine the scholarship award amount of either $10,000, $25,000, or $50,000.
All applicants will be notified of their status no later than July 15th of each year.
