The Application Process for The UTSA Scholarship
Interested and eligible candidates must submit completed applications through the general application scholarship hub on the UTSA scholarship hub to be considered for this scholarship opportunity.

UTSA Free Tuition Requirement for Bold Promise Program
The University of Texas at San Antonio UTSA Bold Promise is a tuition promise program with the main goal of making college more accessible and affordable to graduating High School Texas residents from middle- and low-income families,
UTSA has expanded its tuition-free program that was launched in 2019 to cover tuition and fees for a year-one student with a family income of up to $70,000 starting in the fall of 2022. According to Lynn Barnes, UTSA senior vice provost for strategic enrolment close to 1800 students have qualified for the Bold Promise program’s family income eligibility threshold
How do I Qualify for the UTSA Bold Promise program?
One of the good things about the Bold Promise program is that freshmen who meet the qualification and meet criteria below criteria can qualify for the program:
- Â You must be a Texas resident.
- Ranked in the top 25% of their class.
- Complete and submit your FAFSA application by January 15.
- Have a family income of up to $70000.
- Submitted a Fall freshman admission application and all required documents (SAT/ACT, transcripts, essay, and so on) by Jan 15.
- Enroll full-time (12 credit hours or more) each semester.

- Log into the UTSA Scholarship Hub with myUTSA ID and passphrase.
- Answer all the questions for the General Scholarship Application correctly.
- Click the finish and submit buttons after completing the General Scholarship Application. You may be eligible for other scholarship opportunities by completing this application.
- Click on Apply next to check additional scholarship opportunities and their requirement.
- Review the scholarship criteria to check if you are qualified, answer the accompanying questions carefully, and then click on the finish and submit buttons for each scholarship to complete the application process.
UTSA Scholarship for Transfer Students
UTSA offers the merit-based Distinguished Transfer Scholarship to exceptional students with great scholastic achievement and fit at their previous institution.
Non-resident and international students awarded the Distinguished Transfer Scholarship for a minimum of $1,000.00 for the academic year will be granted a waiver for non-resident tuition if scholarship eligibility is maintained.
How to Apply
Admitted students transferring in at least 24 credit hours at the time of admission will be offered automatic consideration based on academic merit.
This scholarship is valued at up to $6,000 ($1,500 each semester) for up to four consecutive semesters (not including summers) if renewal eligibility is maintained.

- Spring transfers must be admitted by October 15
